Easter Holiday

As we remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, it’s high time to thank God for keeping us safe and maintaining our good health during this time of pandemic.

Some have lost their loved ones to coronavirus. Others have been drained out of their resources due to high cost of treatment. May God remember all those infected and affected. May He comfort them and strengthen their faith in Him.

Let’s not forget that God knew us before we were formed in our mother’s womb. He promises never to leave us alone. He was with the children of Israel when they reached the red sea. Could they have imagined that the water would give the way? But God did it….and there was a way through!

They reached the wilderness where there was no sign of water to quench their thirst…God provided away out!

Those who were dead and people had lost hope…He made them live again! And the sick…..He restored their health!

He gave hope to the hopeless. No matter what we are going through, God will make a way… it may be dark in the night, but the morning is coming and the sun will shine once again!

Just hold on!

Happy Easter!

Sunday Weather Forecast: Nairobi, Kenya.

Of late we have been experiencing a very unpredictable weather. Like today is too hot. Sometimes days become too hot and all of a sudden changes to cold weather. Heavy fog is being experience along the highway causing accidents due to poor vision. Not even the weather man gets it right.

In February, heavy rains came from nowhere. It brought havoc in the country. As we were preparing to get used, the dry weather appeared.

It seems seasons have really changed. Sometimes back, we were able to tell exact dates when the rain would fall without the help of weather forecast department.

Now we are in late March. We are expecting long rains as people have already prepared their land for planting season.

We have to adapt this kind of change. Now we have to leave the house having all the necessities: umbrella for the rains, heavy sweater for the cold and light clothes too, incase the weather becomes unbearably hot. Not forgetting to put in mind the type of the shoes. Floods can appear any time.

Enjoy you day!

Never too late to do good!

Some of us have been having a good time as we celebrate the Christmas. It is unfortunate that there are some families who could not afford to have some of the fun moments.

It’s never late to do good. If you can, just get a family that wasn’t lucky and let them smile. No matter how little it is, it’s better than none.

It feels good to let one smile! Wishing you a successful new year!

How I made it (epi 5)

From the previous episode, the letter continues……

…. won’t be reporting on duty today. I understand that he was arrested after getting involved in hit and run accident. He is remanded at Central Police Station.

From his friend

Things became more complicated to me. The letter was written by his friend. That meant he had given him the keys to access the office. Could it be that Bryan was involved in the Hopekins accident? He didn’t drive and this made me more confused. Could he have hired a cab? And if yes, what was his motive? I decided to rush to the police station and get the real picture of the matter.

He looked devastated. “Bryan, why did you do it? We could have solved the matter in more civilized manner!” I shouted angrily.

He didn’t bother to say a word leave alone to face me. I new my harshness won’t bear any fruits and so I had to control myself.

After sometime, he was ready to talk but the only thing he said was, ” It was an accident. I didn’t mean to do it. Please forgive me. I hope Hopekins is still alive. Kindly let him know that am sorry for what happened.”

“You almost killed him! He is now in critical condition just because of your jealousy. I had told you earlier that Hopekins is just a friend like any other classmate, but you didn’t want to believe me. Now see what you have done. He is in the hospital while you are locked in here. I don’t know whether to be at the office, hospital or police station.” I had a lot to tell him if it were not for the policeman who interrupted, ” Madam the visiting time is over. Kindly leave the station”

Bryan was sentenced to three months imprisonment. Life behind bars was not easy for him. His regrets could not save him neither his remorsefulness.

Hopekins was recuperating and after a month, he had improved and was released to go home under medication. I took him in as he needed a lot of care before he could recover completely.

It didn’t take long and after a few weeks from the hospital, he was able to undertake most of his duties. We could go to the office together. I was happy that he was able to assist in some areas now that Bryan was still at bay. We also agreed to be visiting Bryan at the prison together.

It was our first day to visit him and we didn’t know how his response would be. Immediately we were ushered in, he was called to meet us. I could tell that Hopekins was tensed.

“You have fifteen minutes only,” the officer commanded. I had stayed a while without visiting him as I had to take care of Hopekins and the office duties too. At first I didn’t recognize him. His body had really changed. I didn’t know whether to sympathize or to judge.

He looked at us without saying a word. It was obvious that he didn’t expect to see Hopekins there. We couldn’t guess his next move untill the time he broke the silence……..What did he say? Catch the next episode. I would like to hear from you. Kindly leave a comment. You can as well follow me to be sure not to miss the next episode

Benefits of end year reflection

The year is ending and a lot has happened since the pandemic caught up with us. We have lived a live that we had never thought of but we must accept the new normal and move on.

Nevertheless, it is important to reflect on all that has happened in the course of the year. No matter the circumstances, there is always a silver lining in every cloud.

Why reflect? To identify the positives and the negatives that you have experienced. For the achievements, appreciate yourself and all those who contributed to the achievements as well as thinking on how you can make them better in the coming year.

The vices are part of our lives and they also contribute to the performance of our daily life. If it were not for the challenges that we go through, we would never ambitious of being successful.

So reflect on the hindrances or barriers that blocked your way and made you either to slow your movement or blocked it completely. What you can do to eradicate them or weaken them so that you can achieve your goals as targeted in the beginning of the year.

Come up with new strategies to improve your performance as you start the new year. Take some time to flashback and come up with the way forward.

By doing this, you will be in a better position come the new year. Hope this will help you to plan. What is your opinion on this? Kindly share it in the comment.

Shocking news on Christmas holidays

Still on Christmas mood and everyone expects everything to be okay. Sometimes our wish might not be met and somehow we get discouraged. No matter how much you try to avoid some issues, they still follow you like a shadow.

Previously, I had written a post on how best to lose weight. I went on by narrating the story of what happened on my first day at the gym. Little did I know that the festive season was knocking loudly.

I was determined to lose some fats, unfortunately the temptations were so high. It wasn’t easy to decline several offers of roasted chicken not to mention ‘nyama choma’ roasted goat meat.

With careful measures on covid 19 being taken care of, meeting with long time friends was inevitable as we enjoyed our fries.

And guess what happened..all the kilos I had reduced came back with a bang. Yesterday when I checked it, I was discouraged though happy to have enjoyed the Christmas holidays.

I now look forward to going on with my programs immediately the festive season is over.

Were there some temptations you went through the festive season? Encourage a sister by leaving a comment. Looking forward to a prosperous new year.

Christmas Carols Vibes

Thirty minutes to Christmas and for sure it’s a silent night. Not because we wanted that way, but the curfew caused by the pandemic made things the way they are.

The air is full with beautiful tunes of Christmas carols. Others enjoying watching movies related to the birth of Jesus Christ.

How are you ushering in the Christmas Day?

How Coronavirus has affected the festive season

The festive season has come at a time coronavirus has become a thorn in the flesh. At Christmas Eve, there were many ways on how to usher the Christmas day. The tradition being joining the congregation at the church to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Others celebrate the same with their friends at home or meeting places such as bars. All having the same goal of ushering the birth of Jesus celebrations.

It is sad that the joyous moment will not take place this year. People have to stay at home to avoid being caught at the wrong side of the law. By 10pm, the curfew rule dictates that everyone to be in the house.

Then, will people sleep early? Not at all. Many have joined their family members and they will be following live programs from their favourite TV stations.

Those who enjoy taking some drinks have already bought enough to carry the day.

Whether in towns or country side, most people are well set for the festive season. But in town, some may celebrate it behind bars.

So let’s be careful and follow the guidelines given by the authority.

The husband caught his wife red-handed

You may not believe it, but he caught me red handed!

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw him. I stood speechless not knowing what to do next. It was true that he didn’t miss his target!

What will I tell him? How will I explain it? A lot of rhetorical questions crisscrossed my mind. Will he ever trust me again?

He had been saying it time and again, but I always denied. Now I had to plead with him for forgiveness.

Mostly he comes home drunk after saying that he doesn’t have money to support the family. Where did he get the money to buy alcohol?

This made me to sneak to his coat pocket or wallet and took some money from there. I had been doing it for some months without him noticing. Incase he did, I always defended by accusing him of visiting bars and that could be where he was losing his cash.

Sometimes he couldn’t ask because it meant that he had some money yet he couldn’t support the family and that couldn’t end well with him. He had been an irresponsible father.

There is this evening when he arrived home totally drunk. He went straight to bedroom and put his wallet carelessly. I thought this was a good chance to do my normal routine. After making sure he was snoring, I took his wallet and took some money.

Before I could make a move, he jumped out of the bed and gave me a king size slap that made me dizzy for some minutes. For all this time, he had been pretending to be drunk. Little did I know that it was a trap.

Having been caught red-handed, I had little or nothing to say. ……..this was a story from one of the ladies in our neighborhood.

Have you ever found yourself in such a situation? I would love to hear your story too as you leave a comment. Get more

It was so amazing to watch the bride and the bridegroom (both having hearing impairment) exchanging the vows. The pandemic could not hold their love any longer. True that their love new no bounds.

It was an exciting event full of beautiful colours as well as bride’s maids who were all deaf. They really enjoyed each other’s company splendidly. The disability good not hinder them from following the event joyfully.

To make things easy for the wedding couple, there was an interpreter who always was beside them as the pastor precede the occasion.

Surely, disability is not inability!

See what the netizens are saying due to coronavirus pandemic

Is the story a fiction or real? Do kids believe in it? When they grow up and understand the whole thing about Santa, what might be their reaction? Do adults lie to kids?

Christmas Eve! – Ciscasquapro

What seemed like it will never come to be in month of January is now here with us. Yes! Tomorrow is Christmas! How are you ushering it? I believe by now we are all set on how to celebrate our Christmas Holidays.

However, some challenges though. A lot of people traveling to different parts of the country causing congestion at bus station making it very difficult for people to maintain social distance as to covid 19 guidelines.

True to say that the transport business is really booming now that they don’t wait for people to board. People started booking earlier enough and for those who didn’t, they are finding it tough. Sometimes they are forced to postpone their journey due to lack of means of transport.

For those having personal means, they are not spared either. Traffic jam has become a nuisance along the highways. This has been brought by a large number traveling using their means while others hire cars for Christmas Holidays.

The SGR trains are already fully booked. The train to Nanyuki from Nairobi has been forced to reschedule its program to meet the demand of a high number of passengers.

Supermarkets and malls are overcrowded as people struggle to get their best for Christmas. Christmas trees and Christmas lights business taking the frontline. People are seen shopping luxuriously as this is not a daily way of doing it. Such kind of shopping mostly comes once in a year to most of the people and so is something to be celebrated for.

For those who will be slaughtering, the animal is just within the compound waiting for the D-Day. Yeah, waiting to throw a party!

That’s how things are here. I thought coronavirus pandemic would hinder the festive mood, but people are determined to visit their loved ones.

What about at your place? How are people ushering the Christmas?

The shocking Christmas Gift!

Hi everyone, ready to get a gift for your loved ones as we celebrate the Christmas? Just have a look at this…During Christmas Holidays, we expect to receive or give out gifts to the needy or loved ones. Have you ever participated in this? The excitement of Christmas gifts is very common with children. They want to have Christmas fashion that is trending. The toy car of the latest model. When this time comes, Teenagers are the most stubborn. They will make you move from shop to shop without making a choice.

My dad could visit us every Christmas after staying away for a whole year. Like every other parent, he could come with gifts to sooth our long waited love. Some of these gifts were jackets, dresses and shoes. It was a must to wear the new clothes on Christmas Day as we attended the church service. Without the new dress, one felt out of the place.

I remember that Christmas Eve when he arrived with a lot of gifts. Everyone was excited to try them out and prepare for the show off on Christmas Day.

I was eager to try them too. I took my dress, jacket and a pair of shoes. After putting it on, it was so long that not only did it touch the floor but it was off shoulders too. Not because it was the trending fashion but because I couldn’t fit in. The jacket’s sleeves were oversize and buggy, not to mention the pair of shoes which I could force my feet inside.

My brother was not spared either. His pair of trousers looked like a short while the pair of shoes was too big for him. We couldn’t imagine celebrating Christmas with old clothes and so my mum had to come up with a way out.

She took my brothers shoes, put some used clothes inside to make them smaller for him to fit in. There was too little to do with the pair of trousers which turned out to be a fake pair of shorts.

After putting on my dress, she then used my dad’s belt to tighten the waistline. This made it appear a bit shorter to allow me walk. For the sleeves, little was to be done. The shoes had no remedy and so I had to wear them as the toes pitched together. I could barely walk.

By now you can imagine how we looked. Your guess is as good as mine: scarecrows! This did not deter us from attending the Christmas Service, but by the time I got home,my toes were full of blisters. The important thing to us was we had new clothes and that is all that mattered.

As we prepare to celebrate the Christmas by giving out gifts, it is important to note that the gifts are worthy. If the need be, no harm to get more information about it. Kindly share your opinion on this. For other insights, see here.

Tips on how to shop during Christmas Holidays-Ciscasquapro

Hi, I know there is a lot of buying stuff that comes with Christmas holidays. At 23rd blogmas day , I would like to share some tips on how to do your shopping.

We are doing this amidst the challenges brought about by coronavirus and so it might be tougher compared to other years.

  • Buy what you can. Don’t compete with your neighbours in the name of doing Christmas shopping.
  • If you have plenty, remember to share with the less fortunate.
  • Buy most important things first, avoid impulse buying.
  • For those who are opening schools on January, save for school fees first then do shopping with the rest.
  • There is life after Christmas, so, don’t drain yourself too much. You will still need basic needs later.
  • Last but not least, be careful when buying online products. Be careful of scammers.

With those few tips, shop with care.

What and where are you shopping?

Remember to catch on Christmas rush!

Best places to spend your Christmas Holidays

Hi good people, it’s 20th of December already in Christmas mood How are you planning to spend the holidays? Today I would like to share where best I prefer spending my Christmas Holidays.

It is obvious that people have different interests depending on different factors. For those who have been living in town, they would prefer to spend their holidays away from hustle and bustle of the city. So, country side becomes one of their best destiny for their holidays.

To those who live upcountry, visiting the cities is the top in their list. They want to relax from daily chores of the farms.

Others will prefer to visit tourist attractions such as game parks or spend their holidays at the hotels where everything is taken care of. This is mostly preferred by ladies who have been taking care of the family. They need the break from the kitchen as well as enjoying pampering from the family members.

Country home is my take for Christmas Holidays. I love that morning when birds wake me up with their chirping and tweeting sound. The sight of the sun rise from the East is amazing not to mention that cool atmosphere that comes with the sun set.

Having meals prepared with products direct from my farm is refreshing. I also take this time to bond with the cows and the pets.

How and where do you prefer spending your holidays? Kindly share as you leave a comment. See how I spent my life in the village here
