Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha has released the results of the Kenya Certificate of Primary School Education (KCPE).
The release of the results at Mitihani House, Nairobi comes only 21 days after 1,179,192 candidates in 28,460 schools sat for the national examinations. 199, 639 professionals were contracted for the exercise.
The marking of multiple choice papers was concluded in early April.
Term one of 2021 is scheduled to begin on July 26, 2021, after nearly a year of a disrupted school calendar due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Allaying fears that the current high Covid-19 infection rate in the country could prolong the reopening of schools, Prof Magoha, on April 12, assured Kenyans that there were no plans to further interfere with the school calendar.
“Avoid dancing with death. We are in the fourth week of the national examinations, almost concluding the process. Continue observing the Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines in your institutions and avoid exposing yourselves,” said Prof Magoha.

Now that they acted as role model, people have come out in large number to receive the jab. Infact, some centers fell short of the vaccine. The fear is no more!…good leaders lead by example!

If you would be able to talk to those birds, they also have a story to tell. They would complain that people are hash to them, cry out because of challenges from bad weather, they also get sick and other many bad things do happen to them.” She looked at her daughter who was nodding her head in agreement with the mother.
Then she went on, “When God created human beings, according to what The Bible says, they were wonderfully and fearfully made. He took ample time to make sure He made the best human being. Then, he was given permission to control all the other animals.” She took a Bible Story Book and showed her some pictures.
” You see all this animals, human being is more special. He was given a different mind and authority over them.” She closed the book and continued. ” In life, there are challenges, but these challenges are meant to help us learn and to appreciate what God has done to us. They also make us stronger and help us appreciate other people’s lives. No matter all the bad things you see, God will always protect you. He want you to grow and become a great person in future. We should always thank God for giving us this wonderful life. Always remember mom will always take good care of you no matter what.” She hugged her daughter tightly and whispered,” I love you so much baby.” “Thanks mom, now I know am better than those birds! And am safe with you!” Liznet whispered back.

Coronavirus vaccine.
We are back to the new normal. Learners are back home. From my previous post on digital learning, there some hiccups here and there but this should not deter one from achieving their academic goals.
The dawn of the pandemic made us know that we can achieve our academic goals virtually. Through the different platforms provided, one can teach or learn at his or her on pace and finally achieve his or her goals. The president of Tanzania is no more. The vibrant leader spoke loudly against coronavirus early last year. On February this year, he admitted the presence of the virus and urged the media stations to sensitize people on Covid-19.
There was a day he ordered chicks that were imported from kenya to be burned down. He also auctioned cows from kenya claiming they had entered his territory.
All in all, he stood strong for his people. May he rest in peace.

The schools in kenya reopened on 4th January after a break of nine month. Learners have been having a hard time coping with the new normal of putting on the masks and maintaining social distance.
Some of the learners were affected by the pandemic in one way or the other. Not all learners were able to engage in online classes and so almost forgot everything they were taught before the coronavirus pandemic. Nine months is not a short without going through what one had covered previously.
Coming back to school, the learners having been going through mental challenges and some have been seen suffering from stress. This has caused a great harm to school. It has also been noted that, the long holiday exposed the learners to bad behaviours such as use of drugs. Others have found it difficult to adjust to the life of rules and regulations as they were used to live a life of freedom. Recently, a boy killed a teacher just because of being asked why he was late for classes.
The uncertainty and anxiety that is seen in schools indicates the kind of harm the pandemic has caused not only to economy but also to morals and values of our children. Learners have been burning schools living the parents to suffer more as they pay for the loses.
It’s unfortunate that this comes just a month to national exams. It seems that they feel they are not prepared enough to seat for their final year examinations.
Teachers have been advised of the ministry of education to be vigilant and note any form of distress from the learners. They are directed to give the child concerned the support he or she need. Where there is a need for a counselor, teachers should work with speed to help the child.
