Next Governor for Nairobi County

Kenyan politics have been taking a new perspective as those who have been accused of misappropriately handling public office have been thrown out of the offices.

The government isn’t leaving any stone unturned on cases related to corruption. This has caused impeachment of government officers including those in higher offices.

The Kiambu governor was one of the first governors to be impeached. Later the Nairobi governor is out too.

The interesting thing is that Honourable Waititu, former Kiambu county governor, who was impeached due to corruption cases now has been cleared to run for the governor seat to replace Honourable Sonko, former Nairobi governor.

Miguna Miguna who was exiled from Kenya and now lives in Canada is also eyeing for the same seat. He said recently that he will be running for Nairobi Governor position.

Will kenyans be willing to vote these people in? Still waiting to see how things will unfold. For more posts, see them here. For upcoming insights, remember to follow.

The girls who went missing

The stay at home for school going children has brought a big problem to teenagers’ parents. No matter how much they try to keep them safe, it becomes difficult as most of the time parents are out to make ends meet to better their families.

Teenagers are taking advantage of the situation. They are having enough time to do what they like most.

The worst comes with the use of cellphones which are used to make all the plans. To make it worse, the use of social media where these kids find people who are ready to prey on them. Without their knowledge, they find themselves in awkward situations which sometimes became very difficult to come out of.

Dating sites, nude pictures, drug use and other vices are introduced to them through the social groups. They do it too well that by the end of some chats, the kid is lured to all the evil plans.

I don’t demonize the social media, these phones are used for important communication too, like teachers do communicate through the class WhatsApp groups. Assignments, and online classes are done using the same.

The question is, how and where do we draw the line?

Six teenage girls in Nairobi were not spared either. They had been missing for about a week until yesterday when they were found.

As much as our girls are not innocent, they are still minors and those who are taking advantage on them should be brought to book!

Let’s protect the girl child!

What is your take? Kindly share it as you comment.

What next for Kenya

Nairobi, Mombasa and Mandera in kenya have been under lockdown for sometimes now. Today, President Uhuru lifted the lockdown but maintained the curfew hours.

It is expected that most of the people who were locked in Nairobi will now find their way to rural area where they have really missed to be. Life at the city has been hard to many since the strike of the pandemic.

Some lost their jobs and they are unable to feed their families. They prefer sending children and wives to countryside where there is plenty of food.

The worry is, as this large number migrate from towns to rurals, there is a possibility of the virus spreading even more. Moreover, most of the aged parents are in rurals and they are at a greater risk contracting the virus as they welcome their relatives from town.

On the other hand, those in transport business will have something to smile for. People will rush to be out of town as soon as possible, therefore ,increasing their revenue. Since the Nairobi lockdown, most of the vehicles have been parked with nothing to do. You can also see my previous post on traveling.

Still waiting to see how things will unfold….feel free to leave a comment…Do visit my other posts here. For future post …. follow.

Impact of Covid 19 on traveling-ciscasquapro

Coming and going out of Nairobi has been prohibited for several weeks now. The pandemic has come with strict rules that people were not used to. Most people who come from counties neighbouring Nairobi had their program changed drastically.

Most of them used to go to upcountry every weekend which is not possible right now. They are left with the option of communicating through phone calls or social media platforms. The situation is so disappointing as many were used to visit their loved ones any time they felt like. No traveling now and Stay At Home – is the slogan that everybody should adhere to.Transport industry has also been affected especially those ‘matatus’ that were used to ferry people to and from Nairobi.
